Weekly Classes

The Center for Mindful Living offers daily Mindfulness Practice Programs that introduce you to mindfulness and also support your practice of mindfulness. All Mindfulness Practice Programs are FREE to members and may be attended on a drop in basis. The non-member drop-in price is $10.

NOW ONLINE: Meditation Mix: Embracing Presence with Mike Goins August 18

Join us for an unique opportunity to explore a mix of meditation styles from five different instructors. Whether you are new to meditation or want to expand your existing practice, we designed this class to help you access various ways to connect with the present moment, gain a greater sense of self awareness and receive support from community. Each Monday of the month you will be guided by a new instructor through a meditation that is reflective of their practice and teachings.

Mike Goins will be offering Embracing Presence, a meditation aimed to provide space for individuals to safely practice mindfulness in a supportive setting where we promote compassion, kindness, and the development of personal self-awareness. The practice will include guided meditations, sitting in silence, mindful movement, and guided visualization. Each meeting will include discussion with the intent of supporting each other in our personal journeys. 

Mike Goins is a retired Health Educator and Principal. In his second career, he is a certified Holistic Life Coach where his work has focused on stress reduction. His Mindfulness Practice began in 2004 in Columbia, Md. where he eventually practiced with the Stillwater Mindfulness Community under Senior Teacher Mitchell Ratner. He incorporates his Life Coach training and mindfulness practice to offer clients the possibility of joyful living while being fully present in each moment to their life experience. Mike teaches QiGong, Yoga and offers stress reduction workshops to teachers in the local school system. He has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Center of Mindful Living in Chattanooga, Tennessee. With his wife Sheri, he enjoys cycling, hiking, and kayaking.
