July Restorative Yoga w/ Sue Reynolds

This class will begin with some gentle movement followed by a good, long restorative. Restorative Yoga is designed activate the parasympathetic nervous system which calms the body and mind. The poses are done on the floor and are held in stillness, typically for 5-15 minutes. Blankets, blocks, and bolsters assist the body to be comfortable. Restorative Yoga poses were developed by yoga master BKS Iyengar  for people who had injury, illness, or trauma but has come to be a popular practice for anyone wanting to relax deeply. It is sometimes confused with Yin yoga which is not the same, but the practices can be complimentary.
